Born in Amman on the 10th of June 1981 to Their Majesties the Late King Hussein bin Talal, may His soul rest in peace, and Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein.
His Royal Highness Prince Hashim is the 41st generation direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the youngest son of His Majesty the Late King Hussein bin Talal. Prince Hashim received elementary education in Amman and then his secondary education in the United States of America. He also graduated from the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in Britain in 2000, and His Royal Highness was awarded a number of prizes, including the Prize for Best Grades for his academic studies (performance?) at the Faculty of non-British officers.
His Royal Highness graduated with distinction from Georgetown University- School of Foreign Service on 12 August 2005, and HRH then completed his higher education in Islamic Studies (Holy Quran Studies) in Jordan, at the Balqa Applied University, graduating on 5 September 2006.
His Royal Highness is currently serving in the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army’s and holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and he has received a number of high decorations from the Kingdom. On 1 December 2014, HRH pursued another Master’s degree in Defense Studies from Kings College London in the United Kingdom.
His Royal Highness participated in the Platoon Leaders Basic Course in the United States (2007), where he also received the Prize for Best Grades in the course amongst foreign officers. Moreover, he also participated in the course for Commanders of Infantry in the United Arab Emirates (2009), with distinction.
On 12 January 2017, His Royal Highness was appointed as Chief Chamberlain for His Majesty the King.
Prince Hashim Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent on several occasions and accompanied His Majesty on a number of official duties.
On 6 January 2006, His Royal Highness Prince Hashim Bin Al Hussein married Her Royal Highness, Princess Fahdah Hashim. Their Highness has four children: Prince Mohammed Al-Hussein Haidarah born on 15 June 2015, Princess Hala Al-Noor born on 6 April 2007, Princess Rayet Al-Noor born on 4 July 2008, Princess Fatima Al-Alia born on 5 November 2011.
